In a cozy setting, the bedding provided decent comfort for the stay. The breakfast setup in the room featured a variety of items, like apples, cereal, and yogurt, albeit inconsistently.
The bathroom cleanliness didn't meet expected standards, leaving a bit to be desired. The room temperature felt chillier than I would have liked, forcing me to stay wrapped up longer than necessary. The heating system seemed sporadic with its on-and-off patterns. The lack of adequate light-blocking options made sleeping in too difficult with early morning sunlight flooding the room. With low ceilings, I bumped my head a few times, requiring me to navigate with more caution than I'm used to.

Lovely, friendly people running it, pretty decor in bedroom and in communal areas, welcoming atmosphere, very clean and well maintained, excellent service with a smile. Also very peaceful, no noise disturbance.
Very difficult trying to park a Mercedes S class in the car park at the back, too big a car for such a narrow lane, should have brought the Fiat 500!!! Although the breakfast was substantial and well presented, the sausages were not such good quality and we would prefer to have fresh coffee rather than instant.

Make sure to request extra blankets for added warmth, especially in winter as the heating may not be fully controllable.

Everything was great, Andy was very friendly and the rooms were lovely. It was also just outside of the city centre and an easy walk in. Very good value for money. I would definitely stay there again, and definitely recommend it!

We totally enjoyed our stay at the Clarin guest house. Kim and Andy were so thoughtful and friendly. Their help allowed my husband and I to have a great few days in Scotland. Their guest house was beautiful and immaculate, the rooms very comfortable, and the location for buses to the center of Edinburgh was easy to manage. I highly recommend the Clarin Guest House to anyone needing a place to stay in Edinburgh.
I would not have changed a thing.

Room was nice. Good tv & bed. Horrid taste in interior decorating.
We were told to come & go as we pleased but we were made to feel guilty for coming home late or ducking out at night for a cigarette. It felt like we were staying with our parents and had to sneak around. It was uncomfortable in that respect and in my opinion quite rude. We weren't being loud or drunken and quite frankly it ruined that part of our holiday.

The only thing was not having an ensuite but the bathroom is right next door and it has a clean homely feel
